How it works

A practice partner, not a test.

Greenroom follows a simple loop, the same one that helps people get better at anything difficult: prepare, practice, reflect, and try again. Here's what that looks like.

  1. 1

    Set your intention.

Before you begin, you'll name what you want from the rehearsal — “I want this student to feel noticed, not policed.” It's a small step, and it changes how the whole conversation goes.

  2. 2

Rehearse with a partner who feels real.

Take the week-nine check-in: a student who's missed two weeks, with the withdrawal deadline approaching. Your practice partner won't simply confess everything the moment you're kind, and won't stonewall you forever either. They respond to your tone — warmth and genuine curiosity earn the real story; a lecture earns a wall. You can choose how open or guarded they are, and you can rewind to a pivotal moment and try a different approach to see how it changes things.

  3. 3

Reflect, with coaching that's specific and kind.

When you're done, Greenroom shows you what worked in your own words, names one moment worth revisiting with a stronger line written out, and offers a single idea to carry forward. You'll see your growth across five dimensions — warmth, clarity, curiosity, fairness, and the path forward — described as movement over time, never a grade.

  4. 4

    A note on the AI.

The practice partner is exactly that: a partner, not a test and not a judge. It exists so you can try, stumble, and try again somewhere completely private, before the conversation that counts.

It starts with a short conversation

Greenroom's intake: a short, warm conversation with the coach about what you teach and what you'd like to practice.

A real example

The week-nine check-in.

A student has gone quiet — missed two weeks, withdrawal deadline days away. You reach out. They deflect: “I've got it handled.” Lead with the attendance policy and they close up further. Lead with “I noticed, and I wanted to check you're okay” and, slowly, the real story comes out — cut hours, a second job, a dead car. The coaching afterward shows you exactly where the conversation turned, and hands you the one move to practice next time: name a specific resource and offer to make the connection right then.
