Terms of use

The agreement, in plain English.

Greenroom is a tool for practice and reflection, not clinical, legal, or crisis support. The coaching draws on research to help you grow as a communicator; it isn't professional advice, and it isn't a substitute for your institution's resources or a qualified professional when a situation calls for one. The full terms spell this out, along with how accounts work.

A readable summary follows. A full legal version is in attorney review before public launch.

What Greenroom is

A professional-development tool that lets you rehearse difficult teaching conversations with an AI practice partner and receive coaching feedback. It's a practice and reflection tool — not a substitute for professional, clinical, legal, or crisis services.

Your account

You must be 18 or older and an educator or education professional. Sign-in uses an email and password, with email confirmation and self-service reset. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are personal to you.

Cost

Greenroom is free. There is no paid tier, no subscription, and nothing to cancel. We do not ask for a payment method and cannot charge you. A paid version was explored earlier and never launched; if that ever changed, it would be announced in advance and would not apply retroactively to anything you have already done here.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Enter real student names or others' confidential information — Greenroom is built so you never need to (“a student,” “my college”).
  • Misuse the service, access others' data, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the system.
  • Use Greenroom to harass, harm, or violate any law or rights.
  • Attempt to make the AI produce harmful content or bypass safety features.

Your content

You own your data — your rehearsals, reflections, and profile. If you submit a scenario for the shared library, you grant us a license to use the de-identified, refined version, and you confirm it contains no real or identifying information.

Important disclaimers

The practice partners are AI, not real people. Greenroom is for professional development, not advice — it does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or crisis-intervention services. If you or a student is in crisis, contact appropriate emergency or professional resources; Greenroom's role is only to help you practice recognizing such situations and referring to trained help. We don't promise particular evaluations, promotions, or employment outcomes.

Privacy

Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy, including our commitments that your practice is encrypted and unreadable by us and never reported to your institution.

The legal basics

Greenroom is provided “as is,” without warranties, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our liability is limited as the final legal terms will specify. You can stop and delete your account anytime; we may suspend accounts that violate these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, with final venue and dispute-resolution details set by counsel.

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. We never track your practice, and you can opt out anytime. Privacy.
