The agreement, in plain English.

These terms are the agreement between you and James Jarc, who builds and runs Greenroom as an individual (“we” below). Greenroom isn't operated by, or on behalf of, any college or employer. By creating an account or using Greenroom, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

What Greenroom is

A free professional-development tool that lets you rehearse difficult teaching conversations with an AI practice partner and receive coaching feedback. It's a practice and reflection tool. It isn't a substitute for professional, clinical, legal, or crisis services, or for your institution's own resources.

Your account

You must be 18 or older and an educator or education professional. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are personal to you; please don't share them.

Cost

Greenroom is free for everyone. There is nothing to pay and nothing to cancel. We don't ask for a payment method and can't charge you. If that ever changed, it would be announced in advance and would never apply to anything you've already done here.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Enter real student names or anyone else's confidential information. Greenroom is built so you never need to (“a student,” “my college”).
• Misuse the service, access others' data, reverse-engineer, scrape, automate, or overload the system.
• Use Greenroom to harass, harm, or violate any law or anyone's rights.
• Try to make the AI produce harmful content or get around safety features.

Your content

You own what you put into Greenroom: your rehearsals, reflections, profile, and scenarios. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run Greenroom for you, as described in the privacy policy. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your Account page, or by emailing support@greenroompd.com.

If you offer a scenario for the shared library, or allow us to use it to improve Greenroom's own scenarios and tests, you give us permission to use the de-identified, edited version for that purpose, and you confirm it contains no real or identifying information. The shared library is reviewed by a person before anything is published.

AI output

The practice partners are AI, not real people, and the coaching is generated by AI. It can be wrong, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation. Use your own judgment, and your institution's policies, before acting on it. We don't promise any particular evaluation, promotion, or employment outcome.

Safety

Greenroom does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or crisis-intervention services. If you or a student is in crisis, contact emergency services or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and your campus's counseling or care team. Greenroom's role is only to help you practice recognizing such situations and connecting people with trained help.

Research

Greenroom is also the tool for an optional research study. Taking part is a separate choice with its own consent, on the study page, and it never affects your use of Greenroom.

Changes to Greenroom and to these terms

Greenroom may change, and features may be added or removed. If we ever shut Greenroom down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can download your data. If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and we'll email you before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use Greenroom after a change means you accept it.

Ending your use

You can stop using Greenroom and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk.

The legal basics

Greenroom is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities, and our total liability for any claim about Greenroom is limited to fifty U.S. dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ohio. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
